Editorial standards: how the pages are written
Each page starts from public sources, preferably official ones, cited at the bottom of the page. An official figure is given as is; an observed duration or price is given as a range and presented as such. Each page shows its update date; partner links are labelled, no review is paid for.

Preferred sources
In order of preference: official Indonesian websites, the French authorities, international organizations, then encyclopedias and operators, when no official source exists.
- Entry into the country: Indonesian immigration e-VoA (new tab), All Indonesia Arrival Card (new tab), Bali tourist levy (new tab).
- Safety and health: France Diplomatie’s travel advice (new tab) page (in French) and the World Health Organization (new tab).
- Tourism and culture: the Bali province tourist office (new tab) and UNESCO (new tab) for the cultural landscape of the subak.
- Climate: the 1991–2020 normals from the Ngurah Rai airport station, read as they are in the record and never copied by hand.
- Boat crossings: the pages of operators and ticketing platforms, for lack of a public source, and said so.
Verified fact or range
A verified fact, such as the price of the e-VoA or the amount of the tourist levy, is given with its source and the date it was recorded. Everything else, driving time, price of a room, crowds in a given month, is a range or an assessment, and the page says so where the figure appears.
- Travel times are orders of magnitude by car, in daytime: traffic in the south can double them.
- Accommodation prices are observed ranges per night for a double room, outside high season peaks, not the rates of an establishment.
- Conversions use a rounded reference rate, €1 to IDR 20,000, dated mid-October 2026.
- The levels of rain, crowds and prices in the tools are editorial assessments, not measurements.
- The tools and the planner calculate from these ranges: their results are suggestions, not quotes.
Updates and dates shown
Each page shows “Updated on” followed by the date of its last substantive revision. The same date appears in the structured data and in the sitemap. A simple typo fix does not change the date; a modified figure, rule or piece of advice does.
Entry rules and official rates are rechecked first, because they change without notice. In case of doubt between a page on the site and an official website, the official website is authoritative.
Link policy
Labelled partner links fund the site, no review is paid for. A partner link leads to a booking or travel service, carries the label “Partner link” and may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. Other external links point to the source of a figure or to an official service. All of them open in a new tab. No hotel or restaurant is recommended by name for commercial reasons.
Reporting an error
To report an error, an outdated figure or a broken link, write to contact@baliwanderer.com. Give the address of the page, the sentence in question and, if possible, the source that contradicts it.
A factual error is corrected as soon as it is verified, and the page’s update date changes. An error that may have misled a traveler (official amount, entry rule) is also flagged in the page, next to the corrected sentence.
